Resonance and Sound Waves

10 Item(s)

  1. Set of Acoustic and Waves

Set for study of acoustics and waves. The versatility of the set allows you to perform dozens of experiments with fairly simple assembly. Parts are designed in a modular way, allowing a wide range of studies with a very compact and versatile set.

  2. Resonance Tube with Water Column

Simple and accurate experiment to determine the sound velocity.
  3. Chladni Plates

Classic experiment of resonance performed at the beginning of the nineteenth century by the german physicist and musician Ernest Chladni. It's original experiment was to sprinkle sand on a plate as it was set to vibrate with a violin bow. The intention was to visualize and analyze the vibrational behavior of flat surfaces, showing the patterns formed by the nodal lines of stationary sound waves.

  4. Mass x Leaf Spring Oscillator

Equipment for the study of resonance in leaf springs (metal strips).

  5. Set of Tuning Forks

Pair of tuning forks for resonance experiments.
  6. 256Hz Tuning Fork with Resonance Box

    Used in resonance experiments.

  7. 440Hz Tuning Fork with Rubber Hammer

Ideal for closed tube resonance experiment.

  8. Resonance Tube

Equipment developed for resonance experiments in open tube and closed tube. With it you can determine the speed of sound in air with great accuracy.
Experiments can be performed visually using the cork dust to show nodes and wombs of the standing wave or use the microphone.
With the microphone you can find the nodes and wombs of the standing wave by using the function generator.
Furthermore, by using an oscilloscope, it is possible to visualize the appearance of the standing wave inside the tube, that is captured by the microphone and thereby get a result also more accurate.

  9. Function Generator 25kHz

Function generator with two amplified outs. Recommended for acoustic experiments and electricity.

  10. 440Hz Tuning Fork with Resonance Box

    Used in resonance experiments.
