In 1822 the physicist Thomas Seebeck accidentally discovered that by establishing a temperature difference between the junction and the free ends of a thermocouple appeared a potential difference between them. This property of the conductors became known as the Seebeck effect in which transformation of thermal energy into electricity occurs.


With this set we can study the effect Seebeck (thermoelectric effect) as well as know the operation of a thermocouple.
