Presentation

The production of Science and Technology can only take place when the educational system is capable of developing students’ interest for Science and the skills necessary for learning. It is with this in mind that we present the Eureka! Project. A robust system for teaching the Sciences that allows students to practice what was theoretically taught, in addition to stimulating and challenging them to seek new knowledge.

The Eureka! Project is an interdisciplinary system for teaching the Sciences developed for the high school level. It consists of over 100 educational experiments designed to be completed by the students themselves, in addition to scripts for the teachers.

It involves the application of a new methodology for teaching the Sciences. For this purpose, we developed a series of portable kits (LabBox), packaged in safe material, that transform any space into a complete laboratory. What’s more, the kit is also 100% reusable, with a long useful life and extremely low maintenance cost.

Eureka! Project Highlights:
- The experimental script methodology allows students to conduct experiments in the classroom or even at their desks.
- The equipment used to conduct the experiments does not contain any dangerous reagents and is made primarily from unbreakable material (plastic and metal).
- The reduced weight and size of the kits also allow for their piling and storage in small spaces and they can be carried by the students themselves.

Support Material

All the support material was developed by teachers experienced in the areas of Physics, Chemistry and Biology and consists of two different books: the student and teacher books. The student’s book contains experimental scripts with the procedures for assembling and collecting the data as well as additional questions that encourage students to think beyond that proposed. The teacher’s book was developed to serve as a guide, ensuring the safety necessary to educate and orient the students, since all experiments must have a student response and there is detailed information on how to conduct each.
